Patricia Louise Holt-Edwards (24.5.1944) bbekannt als Patti LaBelle, ist eine us-amerikanische S�ngerin. LaBelle begann ihre Karriere in den 60ern mit Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. 
Den Namen �nderten sie zu Labelle und ver�ffentlichten den Megahit "Lady Marmalade". 1976 l�ste sich die Gruppe auf und Patti startete ihre Solokarriere. "You Are My Friend" aus der ersten Platte definierte ihre Entwicklung.
In den 80ern entwickelte sie sich in den mainstream und hatte mit "If Only You Knew", "New Attitude" und "Stir It Up" Hits.

This 2 CD set is a must for any Patti LaBelle, and Labelle fan! Every known song that Patti LaBelle and The Bluebelles recorded for Atlantic Records for from 1966-1969 is here. This set illustrates not only Patti's vocal range, but also the range of styles that the group did. Disc 1 is mainly comprised of the 2 albums that they recorded for Atlantic- OVER THE RAINBOW and DREAMER, with a handful of previously released live songs. The first Atlantic singles " ALL OR NOTHING " and " I'M STILL WAITING " are my favorites among the original songs here, as well as the uptempo b-side " FAMILY MAN ". The group excels on Soul inflected Pop material like ' A GROOVY KIND OF LOVE " and " YOU FORGOT HOW TO LOVE ". Back in 1966, the label wanted the group to do ballads and standards in the hopes of attracting adult audiences. This is where Patti's first version of " OVER THE RAINBOW " was recorded, and of course, it would go on to greater heights as one of the anthems in her solo career in the 80's until today. T
