Blue �yster Cult (Abk�rzung B�C) ist eine US-amerikanische Hardrock-Band. Die bekanntesten Singles sind (Don’t Fear) The Reaper vom 1976er Album Agents of Fortune und Godzilla vom Nachfolger Spectres. Blue �yster Cult wurde zun�chst in den 1960er-Jahren als Soft White Underbelly auf Long Island, New York, gegr�ndet. 1968 wurde daraus die Stalk-Forrest Group und 1970 f�hrte man den bis heute g�ltigen Namen Blue �yster Cult. W�hrend man heute den Stil der Band als Psychedelic- und Prog-artigen Hardrock charakterisieren w�rde, war sie in ihren Anfangsjahren eher von Formationen wie Velvet Underground, Doors und MC5 inspiriert. Die Vermarktungsidee des Managers Sandy Pearlman und der Plattenfirma war allerdings zun�chst ein amerikanisches Black Sabbath.[1] Die Rezeption ihrer Alben ist heute zu einem Gro�teil auf die Independent-Szene beschr�nkt. Einfl�sse von B�C finden sich bei wegweisenden Bands wie Sonic Youth und H�sker D�, oder auch bei Minutemen und Firehose, von denen es auch B�C-Coverversionen gibt.

What a thrill to see this platinum-selling, classic album played live! The band was in amazing form for the performance, and having Albert Bouchard there made what would have been an excellent reprisal truly magical. His voice, playing, writing, and energy was an important part of the original line-up and all the successes they enjoyed in their early years.
These veteran rockers put "intelligent" into "Heavy Metal" but also penned some truly classic, radio-friendly pop oriented tracks, and some beautiful ballads as well. It's great to see that they've weathered the many musical trends that have come and gone since this album first came out in 1976, and that they're still playing with enthusiasm and integrity!
