He is an American musician and songwriter, best known as one of the founding members, long time guitar player and primary songwriters for the 1970s progressive rock band Kansas In the mid-80's, he formed the Christian Contemporary Group AD, and after their breakup continued to record solo albums. The journey of a dying Lazarus crying out to his friend Jesus for help; Mary and Martha lamenting the need for Jesus to come; the begging of the disciples not to go; the plotting of the Pharisees, etc., Lazarus demise; Jesus resurrecting his friend On hearing the opening Overture I was reminded of the great soundtrack of the movie Ben-Hur...and this piece is epic in that regard...plenty of regal horns, timpani/kettle drums, lush strings, full choir...a soundtrack This is not a composition heavy with guitar riffs, or something to be casually played as background music...it requires your involvement, your full attention.
