[img]links/images/splogo.jpg[/img] [center] [url=https://postimages.org/][img(width=500 height=500)]https://i.postimg.cc/FRzgZvxJ/000.jpg[/img][/url][/center] Rock Joe Bouchard, the original bassist for the legendary Blue Öyster Cult, plays on all their most famous songs like “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” “Godzilla” and “Burnin’ for You.” Yet Bouchard has not been a member of BOC since 1986. He then formed a solo band and another group called Blue Coupe, featuring his brother Albert and Dennis Dunaway. Joe Bouchard hat alle Instrumente und den Gesang selbst eingespielt, das stellt im Grunde genommen auch kein Problem dar, denn Joe Buchard ist und war schon immer ein Multi-Instrumentalist. Das Problem an 'New Solid Black' ist aber wie auch bei dem Vorgänger 'Tales from the Island' von 2012 das Songwriting, das Bouchard gern Songschreibern wie John Elwood Cook oder Dave Van Ronk überlässt, so landen neben coolen Rockern wie 'Drive me crazy' und 'Roller girls' leider auch solche banalen Langweiler wie 'Memorial day' oder 'Last call' auf dieser Scheibe. Und auch der BÖC-Song 'Light years of love' war zur Zeit seiner Erstveröffentlichung in den 80 schon einer der schwächsten Songs, die die Band je rausbrachte.
